Agencies Using Social Networking Sites To Fight Crime

Top cybercrime officials across the country are calling social networking sites Facebook, Twitter and MySpace their new best friends.

According to an internal Justice Department document obtained by a civil liberties group in a Freedom of Information Act lawsuit, U.S. law enforcement agencies said evidence from social networking sites can reveal personal communications, establish motives and personal relationships, provide location information, or prove or disprove alibis.
